21st Skills and the Presidential Campaign

The Wired Whitehouse

It is interesting to me how technology transformed the Presidential campaign from what it was in previous elections. History in the making! I think it will also be interesting to follow how Obama harnesses technology as President. And on a side not, notice, too, that he is pictured with a Macbook!

Will he really have to give up his Blackberry?

I thought it interesting to see how much money Barack Obama’s presidential campaign was able to collect thanks to his wikipedia.

Wouldn’t you like to be a particpant in the governor’s conference going on in Philadelphia this week or the next few days? Sounds outstandingly dynamic! I am optimistic that their collaboration will restore some confidence in the USA and global economy! Will their be a creation of a Tribe(s)?

The access afforded by technology during the recent election has truly changed the face of politics and campaigning. Many pundits attribute Obama’s meteoric success among young voters to his and his campaign’s ability to harness the power of technology (remember Obama Girl?). He continues to set precedents in technological advancement as his administration will purportedly appoint the first CTO (Chief Technology Officer), whose job will entail ensuring that our government and all its agencies have the right infrastructure, policies and services for the 21st century. The Obama administration also aims to provide broadband access to even the most rural parts of the US. How will this be done and according to what timeframe? Stay tuned . . . Exciting stuff!
