3:00 PM Monday, May 21...our principal wishes us well. It’s been “a day” and we are on our way.
What a winning team! We’re on our way to PA Computer Fair at Dickinson College. On board: a future filmmaker, an international studies specialist, and a chemical engineer.
2 hours later...and the dining begins. Thank you for getting us to States. We are so glad to be here.
To capture Tom on film. This time, he didn’t get away.
First steps...read throughs, early blocking...we’ll get there…
Nothing succeeds like help from the pros...IP veteran Dan helps out on weekends and after-school practices.
Early stages, literally, for the Cuban Missile Crisis team. Wait till you see them take the stage on May 23, 2007.
May 14. Counting down. One day to go. Hard work, creativity, and hundreds of hours. We’re ready.
Of finishing with a perfect performance. Nailing it!
IP is a family affair; this family supported their daughters two years in a row. IP Parent Alumni--definitely.
IP knits teams and families into IP learning communities for a year. Together on May 15, 2007.
Lindsay, now a freshman in college, was an IP performer two years ago. Looking absolutely fabulous, she works her magic giving the “Rosies” that 40s look.
60 minutes and counting down...to a polished performance. May 17, 2007, the “Rosies” take the stage. So, What If Rosie Never Rivited? Can One Image Represent a Nation? Absolutely, especially if that image is this team’s special effect’s composite.
An all-girls’ team. A dream team. Did their images represent a nation? Perfectly!
Coming together to celebrate a year-long project.
Very special Rosie supporters. Good friends. IP graduates who come back to help, like a gift that keeps giving.
What happens without an insurance photo...sorry I blurred the image--but this is a photo of a family affair. Kailey’s sister is the “clicker” on the computer; her mother teaches at SMS, her father, like many fathers throughout the IP presentations, took time from work to support his family. This year, Kailey presents; two years from now, it’s her sister’s turn…
Dedication at the parent level takes many forms. This year more fathers bought more wood and built more sets than all previous years combined. Mothers shopped more thrift shops for furniture and props. They shared after-school practice duties. But this year, moms added weekends to their schedules. They nourished our spirits with encouragement and brought food. Amen and thanks.
Monday, May 21, 2007. The King team captures an era of tragedy with huge success. Can a dream become a reality? It did under this team’s dedication and direction. [I owe you a much better picture and we will do retakes Wednesday.]
First to register and set up. Beat the rush. 6 years later, here at last!
May 22, 2007...7:30 AM. After set up, breakfast at the Comfort Inn.
What If is two projects in one: factual and counterfactual histories. This team did two factual and two counterfactual histories by examining the Civil War from twin perspectives: North v. South. That’s what it takes to get to States.
