Emersonnn!

1. The format of Emerson’s “The Young American” is a manifesto, unlike others we have worked with in the packet.

2. In my own words, the thesis of “The Young American” is the importance of technology in overcoming obstacles, such as distance, and allowing the youth and upcoming generations of America to develop trade.

3. Other writers include Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams.

Extra Credit* - - The lyrics of this song talk about the significance that the current youth will have in the future. Also, this song was playing so that we could listen to some kickin’ beats. tongue laugh
