I think Calder and Petra are right about Ms. Hussey getting a letter. First of all she got arrested for being a suspect of stealing the painting because she loves art. She also lives alone so she could get a letter. Ms. Hussey wanted them to list things about if they recieved a strange letter what they would do. Mabey she wanted ideas from them. Also she carries a lot of letters around and asked the children to find a strange letter from their parents. A letter the parents would never forget. Mabey she would see the same letter she got and talk to that person.

I agree. The assignment was suspicious. She probably did want to comunicate with some other people.

I disaree with you that Ms.Hussy got one of the letters. I think Ms. Hussy and Mrs. Sharpe stole theainting together.  Also, how do you know that Ms. Hussy lives alone?? I never said in the book that she lives alone.   When Ms. Hussy gave her class the assiment she probably knew about the painting being stolen. ( becaue she did it.)
